Except a Grain of Wheat Fall (8x10)
Five birds in various poses perch in a “snag” (a dead tree), which is entwined with creeper vines. Many birds rely on dead trees for homes and food, nesting in holes and eating the insects that feed on the decaying wood, so what appears a lifeless husk actually teems with life.
Carved by hand with a chip-carving knife and finished with shellac. The frame is also hand-carved before finishing with milk paint and walnut oil. Measures 8×10 inches (roughly 9×11 framed).
Note: I can carve most designs again, so if the item you want is sold out, please get in touch!
