A peg rack in red oak, carved with gouges. The technique is based on 17th-century work from England and New England (rediscovered and taught by Peter Follansbee) but the motifs are adapted from Pennsylvania Dutch barn stars.

The tapered pegs have an octagonal profile and are wedged in place, because when in doubt my mental model is stick chairs. The decorative brass screws are spaced at 16" for safe hanging from studs.
